Training is how your players improve. Without regular training, skill values stagnate and player values stop growing. Go to Team → Training to manage it each day.
Each day, you have a set of training slots. Each slot accepts one training program from a specific category:
Slot Type | What It Does |
Team Tactics | Trains one of your team tactics (e.g. pressing, counter-attack). Tactics must be trained to 80%+ to be effective in matches. |
Individual Skill | Improves a specific skill across your squad (e.g. scoring, passing, tackling). You start with one slot; building Training Facilities unlocks more. |
General Training | Improves attributes, like form or endurance, across the whole squad. |
Trading Card Slot | Play a Training category card for a bonus effect on top of regular training. |
Every training session costs players energy. Managing energy is one of the most important skills in goalunited:
The Physical Therapist replenishes energy over time — hire a good one as early as possible.
Monitor individual energy levels regularly (Team → Players). Do not let anyone fall dangerously low.
Players with very low energy underperform in matches and risk injury.
There is no single correct answer; the best training depends on your squad's weaknesses and your playing style. A few principles to start with:
Train the skills your formation relies on most. A 4-4-2 with wide midfielders benefits from wingplay training; a possession side benefits from passing.
Train tactics you actually want to use; leaving them below 60% and using them in matches is counterproductive.
Form training helps all players perform closer to their potential; useful before a run of tough fixtures.
For each training slot, you can watch a short video ad to earn a 5% training bonus for that session. The bonus is tied to the program in the slot; if you swap the program out later, the bonus is lost and you must watch a new ad for the new program.
Check Team → Training → Training Statistics to see exactly how well each tactic is trained. This is where you confirm whether a tactic has reached the 80% threshold needed to use it effectively in a match.
